2025 Fall Championship

Region 8 members and guests,

I am happy to announce that the 2025 Region 8 Championship registration is open, and once again, will be held at the Kalahari Resorts in the Poconos on October 24-25! Our Championship presents a great opportunity for competitors to compete against students from one of the many studios in the region and test their competitive skills against them. This year, in addition to our competition, we will have Grandmaster William Strong as our special guest. Be sure to seek out an opportunity to receive an autograph, or take a photo with him to keep as a momento!

In addition to a great weekend of competition, our championship is also about camaraderie, which is a big reason why our founder, Grandmaster Jae C. Shin started our regional and world championships. With that in mind, I encourage anyone who is planning to compete, to invite a classmate to come and experience the great weekend we have planned. I hope to see you there! Tang Soo!

Thank you for your interest in the Region 8 Fall Classic, which will be held October 24th and 25th at Kalahari Resort and Indoor Waterpark in Pocono Manor, PA.

Competitor Eligibility/Elegibilidad de competidores
- At the time of registration, all competitors must be registered with the World Tang Soo Do Association and must be a member of a WTSDA studio./Al momento de inscribirse, todos los competidores deben estar registrados en la Asociación Mundial de World Tang Soo Do y ser miembros de un estudio de la WTSDA.
All ages and ranks from 10th Gup to 3rd Dan (until acceptance of Masters Clinic invitation) and Tiny Tiger/Little Dragon students are eligible to compete. Your Association number can be found on your membership report or promotion certificate./Pueden participar personas de todas las edades y grados, desde 10º Gup hasta 3º Dan (a menos que estos últimos hayan sido aceptados a la Clínica de Maestros), así como estudiantes en los programas Tiny Tiger y Little Dragon. Tiny Tiger/Little Dragon and color belt students have Gup numbers [Please only select Tiny Tiger/Little Dragon if your young child has officially enrolled in a Tiny Tiger/Little Dragon program at their studio (not WTSDA 10th Gup or above) and has submitted a membership form to WTSDA./Estudiantes Tiny Tiger/Little Dragon y estudiantes con cinturones de color tienen números Gup y deben usar estos números para registrarse. Please select your rank at time of registration. There will be no rank adjustments if you test after you have registered. Please check with your studio instructor if you are unsure of any of this information./Por favor, seleccione el rango actual del participante al momento de registrarse. Competitor Divisions/Divisiones de Competencia
- At the time of registration, participants will be registered for all events for which they are eligible, based on their rank. This includes Forms, Sparring and for Brown belt students and higher - Weapon Forms./Durante el proceso de inscripción, los competidores serán registrados automáticamente en todas las categorías para las que sean elegibles, según su rango. - For division assignment, please include accurate date of birth, rank, gender, and special needs accomodation./Para que podamos asignar correctamente la división a cada competidor/a, por favor asegúrese de registrar correctamente la fecha de nacimiento, género, rango e información sobre cualquier necesidad especial de adaptación para cada participante.
- Division numbers will be assigned after all competitor applications have been received. Divisions may be combined or split at the discretion of the championship management./Se asignarán números de división después de que se hayan recibido todos los formularios. - In the ring, competitors may opt out of a particular category if they are not interested in competing in it./En el área de competencia, los participantes pueden optar por no participar en alguna categoría si así lo desean.
Please remember that at least four people must compete in each category of each division for competitors to be eligible for division or grand champion cups./Por favor, recuerde que se necesitan al menos cuatro competidores por categoría en cada división para que los participantes sean elegibles para los trofeos de división o de gran campeón.

Participants are to wear standard white do bohk, solid or official half-color belts, and appropriate gear during all events (including opening and closing ceremonies) and are to follow the direction of event staff. Any markings or stripes that are studio specific and not recognized by WTSDA should not be worn at the championship. (See your instructor and student manual for details)
Los participantes deben llevar el do bohk (uniforme) tradicional blanco, con los parches oficiales: el logotipo de la WTSDA, la bandera coreana y la bandera estadounidense. Además, los uniformes de estudiantes de cinturón verde, marrón, y rojo necesitan un ribete del mismo color que el cinturón. Los cinturones pueden ser de un solo color o de dos (por ejemplo: verde-marrón o rojo-azul).
