About WTSDAIn 1968 Master Jae Chul Shin came to the United States of America as the US representative for the Korean Tang Soo Do Association. He formed the US Tang Soo Do Federation in Burlington, New Jersey in 1968. This traditional Korean martial art soon grew in popularity throughout the world. The organization reformed to fit new demands internationally. On November 13 and 14, 1982, a charter convention of the World Tang Soo Do Association (WTSDA) was held in Philadelphia, PA, USA.

The WTSDA is organized into geographic regions to support regional activities that offer members opportunities to experience the camaraderie of our global family and enhance their training and development. Members benefit from personal growth through their Tang Soo Do training. Masters and instructors endeavor to share the strength and ideals of WTSDA within our communities.
Region 8 includes Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, central and eastern Pennsylvania. When the region was established in 1982, there were 18 studios and clubs; today there are over 60 studios and clubs active within the region.
